چکیده
The detection and inhibition of Clostridium botulinum by probiotics' cell-free supernatants, as a bio-preservation strategy, were investigated in some Egyptian fish-stuffs i.e., canned sardines, fesikh, moloha, renga, anchovy. conventional multiplex polymerase chain reaction used to detect C. botulinum, while the inhibitory antioxidant capacity four supernatants assessed using disc diffusion assay (DDA) radical scavenging activity approaches, respectively. results revealed that was isolated from 41.6% examined products, where type E. most predominant genotyping. DDA showed Lactobacillus bulgaricus EMCC 1102 L. paracasei 1103 expressed highest action against Meanwhile, has higher vitro (IC50) than 1103, mostly due its high bioactive constituent. Consequently, control growth E stored anchovy fillets. supernatant dose-dependent effect on These data provided an innovative perspective potential probiotics, guarantee fish products safety for further applications food industry.

Inhibition of Clostridium botulinum by 5-nitrothiazoles.
A number of 5-nitrothiazoles with various substituents in the 2-position were tested for inhibition of Clostridium botulinum in a culture medium. Thiazole itself or 2-bromo- or 2-methylthiazole at 30 mug/ml did not inhibit the organism. An amino group in the 2-position of thiazole inhibited at 10 mug/ml. Substitution of a nitro group in the 5-position of 2-aminothiazole increased the inhibitory...

Botulism is a serious paralytic disease caused by Clostridium botulinum toxin in foods. There are seven recognized serotypes of botulinum neurotoxins among which the principal prevalent types in humans include A, B and E. Infant botulism results from intestinal colonization and toxin production by C. botulinum spores in babies less than 1 year old. Honey is the most important food discriminated...

A total of 75 compounds, including antioxidants, preservatives, gallic acid and p-hydroxybenzoic acid esters, hydroquinones, hydroxyquinolines, phenol derivatives, and related compounds, were screened for their antibotulinal activity in prereduced Thiotone-yeast extract-glucose broth. The most effective inhibitors of Clostridium botulinum growth and toxin production were long-chain esters of p-...
